we are all betrayers

Hoy, durante la conversación con J. en la universidad, me he acordado del más sabio de todos los consejos. Es el único que siento que puedo dar cómodamente, porque captura bien ese elemento de azar tan necesario y caprichoso que atraviesa toda vida humana. Se lo leí a Paul Graham y tiene ritmo de poema: “You need to make yourself a big target for luck.” (Esto es, “tienes que convertirte en un blanco fácil para la suerte”). ¿Cómo? Graham dice que hay que ser curioso: intentar muchas cosas, conocer muchas personas, leer muchos libros, hacer muchas preguntas… Esto es, ponerse en el camino. A veces también hay que apuntarle a la suerte. Aunque sea un blanco pequeñito, apuntándole es una forma de hacerse uno un blanco más grande.
